Annual Banquet

This annual celebration of the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce is held each year in May.  It attracts 300+ members & guests to recognize special volunteers in community & chamber service, and honors the outgoing & incoming Board presidents. The event is an energetic business and social event to enjoy with employees, clients and associates to welcome the new Chamber year while highlighting the past year. 

The event kicks off with an award ceremony in which the following awards are presented:

President's Award-The President's Award is given annually to a Kershaw County citizen who has contributed significantly to Kershaw County for a significant period of time, or has made a contributions to the betterment of the community.  It is the highest award given by the Chamber.  Nominations for this award are solicited from the membership and reviewed by the Executive Committee.  The President accepts their recommendations as information and makes the final decision on the recipient. 

William F. Nettles Award-The William F. Nettles Award is given annually to a non-board member who has done the most to advance the programs of the Chamber of Commerce during the past year.  It is given in memory of William F. Nettles, Jr., long-time supporter, and Past-President, of the Chamber of Commerce.

Kershaw County Business Person of the Year-The Kershaw County Business Person of the Year Award will recognize the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce member whose business and community improvement contributions over the past twelve months have significantly impacted Kershaw County.  The nominee for this award must be a current dues paying member in good standing of the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce.

Ambassador of the Year-The Ambassador of the Year Award is an award given to honor an individual(s) from among the Chamber's Ambassadors Council who has gone above and beyond in their duties as a Chamber volunteer.  Ambassadors are awarded points for the duties they perform on a monthly basis for the Chamber.  At the end of the year the points are tallied and the Ambassador receiving the most points is awarded this honor. 

Community Pride Awards-Community Pride Awards are designed to recognize extensive exterior remodeling, new construction, or landscaping which significantly improve the appearance of the community.  The improvement should have been completed between the period of May 2009 through April 2010.  The Community Pride Awards are intended for those who "go the extra mile" to assure their business' outward appearance is above and beyond what is reasonably done as a matter of course in construction or renovation.  All Kershaw County businesses and organizations are eligible for this honor. 

Upon conclusion of the awards ceremony, attendees are invited to stay for a lavish networking reception with cocktails, heavy hors d' oeuvres, and entertainment.
