It is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Camden and Kershaw County, an area known for its history, horses, and hospitality! Rich in heritage, Kershaw County is a place where the strength of tradition mingles with the excitement of the present.
While you are here, you will want to see the sites in Camden's Historic District, including parks, cottages, and spacious mansions. Spring blossoms in the "Steeplechase Capital of the World" with the Carolina Cup, and Fall comes alive when the Colonial Cup races are held each November. The National Steeplechase Association Season begins and ends with the Camden races. Often the NSA Horse of the Year is determined with the results of the Colonial Cup race. Other equine activities such as horse shows, polo matches, fox hunting, and trail riding take place throughout the year.
Camden is anxious to share yesterday's treasures. Our Antique District boasts three antique malls and a dozen individual shops offering an outstanding selection of antiques and collectables. Our "Camden Antiques and Arts District" brochure includes a map of the district so that you can discover each and every antiquing location.
The hospitality of this gracious community will entice you to enjoy our history, horses, recreation, festivals, shopping and dining. There is always something going on in Kershaw County.
We personally invite you to experience "Unbridled History" during your stay in our community.
